Drawing Horses The Easy Way This is now a totally electronic manual. It is a total unit with its own viewer from Fugue Software. Installation: The downloaded file, manual.exe is a self extracting file. All you need to do is double click and it will unzip. The contents of the file will be placed in a directory, C:\horse, which will be created automatically, unless you choose to change that. Open your files in My Computer and find C:\horse. Open it. These files should be included in that directory: eleman.EBK ilda16.dll pbviewer.hlp pbxvwr16.exe vendinfo.diz readme.txt You can click the pbxvwr16.exe file and this should open the viewer. Click File on the menu bar. Choose Open. Select an Open the file eleman.EBK. The manual should open, and a password window opens, click cancel.Then there will be a page of information, click OK and it should open the first page, showing the horse head. You can use the Table of Contents to move around in the manual. The blue arrows on the menu bar, (<--), will take you back to the page you just left, (-->), if not greyed out, will take you forward to the page you just left. The Next Page link at the bottom of each page will take you forward to the next page in the manual. If you are on page 12 it will take you to page 13. The Last Page link will take you back to the previously numbered page. If you are on page 12 it will take you back to page 11. The file head.EBK is the free part of the manual, which will show you how to draw a horse's head. The file eleman.EBK is the complete manual and it is password protected. Pages 1 to 14, and pages 48 and 49. The oder information page will also open. To use the other pages you will have to send an order. So you see, the work is already done. You might as well order the manual today. _________________________________ TO CREATE AN ICON. For Windows 3.1 In Program Manager click File on the menu bar. Select New. Then Select Program Group. Click OK. For Description enter Drawing Horses. Leave Group File blank. Click Ok. At this point a Drawing Horses group window should be open. Leave the window open and click File on the menu bar. Select Program Item. Click OK. For Description enter Drawing Horses. For the Command Line click the Browse button. Locate the file where you stored the manual files. If you did not change when they were unziped it should be C:\horse. Select the file pbxvwr16.exe. Click OK. Check Run Minimized. Click OK. You should now have an Icon in the Group Window. Double click to start the manual. ___________________________________ TO CREATE AN ICON OR SHORTCUT. Windows 95/NT Shortcut: Open My Computer. Find the C:\ horse directory, (or where you stored the files), and open it. Right click on the file pbxvwr16.exe. Select Make Shortcut. A shortcut should appear. Click the file an hold with the right mouse button and drag the shortcut to your desktop. You now have a shortcut to the manual. To create and icon and ad the manual to your Start \ Programs: Open My Computer. Find the C:\ horse directory, (or where you stored the files), and open it. Right click on the file pbxvwr16.exe. Select Make Shortcut. A shortcut should appear. Now right click the shortcut and select Copy. Close C:\horse and open C:\windows find Start Menu folder and open. Find Programs folder and open it. On the menu bar (of the program file) click File. Select New. Select folder. This should create a new folder titled New Folder. Change the name to Drawing Horses. Then click Drawing Horses file with the right mouse button, it should highlite the file name. Select Paste. This should paste the pbxvwr16.exe shortcut inside the file. You shoud now find Drawing Horses listed in Start \ Programs. Click Drawing Horses and pbxvwr16.exe should flyout. Click and the Manual should open.
